The Widus Group recently announced that they have put pen to paper on a new lease, which would change the company’s fortunes. The property is estimated to be about 450 hectares of real estate in New Clark City.
This groundbreaking lease will let the company build 4 luxury hotels and 3 golf courses as part of a monumental project to establish a luxury mountain resort.
The Widus Group also stands as the operator and owner of the well renowned Widus Hotel & Casino, located in Clark, Philippines, signed the agreement. This is part of a continuous plan to enlarge the entire facility the group is offering.
The agreement is not done by Widus alone. It is done in collaboration with BCDA (Bases Conversion Development Authority). It comprises of a commitment made by the Widus group to invest an estimated sum of Php12 billion (€215,885,730 or $238 million) to develop a state of the art resort.
The resort will be called the Hann Lux. Construction will start in the first quarter of next year and will take about 10 years to complete before it would be unveiled to the general public.
According to Calvin Ayre, some parts of this fantastic facility will be open before the agreed launch date slated for 2030. The first phase will be completed on or before 2025 and is expected to gulp Php5 billion (€90,732,000 or $100 million).
The Banyan Tree Hotel and Angsana Hotel and an 18 hole championship golf course, along with a club house, will be part of phase 1, which would be completed in 2025.
While this is under construction, work on Phase 2 will begin in earnest as well. This includes the creation of Westin and Luxury Collection by Marriott. A two 18-hole championship golf course will also be part of what will be built.
That’s not all, there’ll be several outdoor recreation facilities, first-class villas and residences, and a multi-purpose commercial center together with a public park that will span about 10 acres. When this project is completed, it’s expected to have gulped what is left of the Php7 billion (€126,118,870 or $139 million) that was invested.
In a statement released by DaeSik Hand, the president and CEO of Widus Consortium had this to say;
“Clark is fast becoming one of the top destinations in Northern Luzon for both tourists and investors. We hope to attract more with the development of a new leisure resort in New Clark City, one that is in keeping with the vision of BCDA.”
New Clark City is situated about 100 kilometers north of Manila in the Philippines. The New Clark City project spans about 9,450 hectares. The project was established with the aim of reducing the terrible congestion plaguing the capital city.
It would not just contain a world class luxury resort alone, the project will be fitted with the latest and best smart technologies as well as multi-purpose facilities all through the area.
A first-rate government center, together with a sports and education center for national athletes will be incorporated when the project is finally completed.
