Monday Night Football will be played at Estadio Azteca, Mexico City. The clash between Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers will end week 11.
Chiefs who are in a tie with the Oakland Raiders at the first place in the division, will have to prove themselves to retain the title. Last week they lost to Tennessee in the duel that ended 35-32. The Titans had scored a go-ahead touchdown and blocked a game-tying goal giving them the Sunday victory.
On the other hand, the chargers sit in third place following the 26-24 loss against Oakland in week 10. The loss to Oakland summed up Chargers’ season with all their six losses being seven points or less.
As reported in an article by Casino.org, Monday night bettors are vouching for the Chiefs. Although the Chiefs are at -245 on the moneyline, bettors are still giving their support to the K.C Chiefs instead of the L.A Chargers. In fact, 57 percent of the bets are on Chiefs and the bettors’ share makes two-thirds of the cash.
Analytics site numberFire also reported on the same trend as FanDuel bettors showed more support for the Chiefs. The site also indicated that 85 percent of these bettors accounted to 81 percent of the money gambled.
Bettors seem to expect a high-scoring game since 68 percent of FanDuel bets are on the over. These bets account for 72 percent of the wagered money.
Monday night is all about Chargers’ Philip Rivers and Chief’s Mahomes as they are the top passing leaders.
Philip Rivers, Chargers’ quarterback tops the AFC and is third position in the NFL due to his 2,816 yards throws. Kansas City’s Mahomes has thrown 2,626 yards in the eight games that he has played. He missed two full games following a dislocation of his knee.
Mahomes has also perfected not giving the ball away thus his 18 touchdowns coincide with a single interception. On his part, Rivers holds a 14-to-10 touchdown to interception ratio falling behind Mahomes who was last year’s most valuable player.
Apart from these two, Melvin Gordon is the player to watch out for during Monday night game. Although the Chargers running back struggled in the first games, he has had a good two last weeks with Green Bay and Raiders.
He may have been unable to finalize a score for his team during the game at Tennessee, but he managed to pick up from there and forged forward. In their win against Green Bay, he made an effort of 80 yards and scored twice on 20 carries.
This was followed with a 108 yard effort on 22 carries against Raiders. The effort included a touchdown as well.
Kansas City’s running back, Damien Williams has odds of -150 making him the favorite at FanDuel. On the other hand, Gordon has odds of -135 which makes him the second choice and is position has everything to do with scoring a touchdown during Monday night game.
