NBC Sports network has brought back the airing of betting focus games for 76ers on its streaming service. NBC Sports Betcast streaming was aired on Wednesday’s games between Philadelphia 76ers and New York Knicks. The idea of steaming was tested in the 2018-19 NBA regular season. The pilot project was criticized for failing to give enough data and statistics, something that NBC believes it has improved this time.
The streaming broadcast will be hosted by sports wagering analysts who include MarcFarzetta, Brad Feinbering, and local radio host Anthony Gargano. NBC Sports announced that during the live game broadcast, the three will focus on betting odds and how the flow of the game is affecting them.
Advertisement Revenue
In October, NBC Sports Regional Network president announced that three broadcaster RSNs in Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington DC have started to realize the impact of advertising sports betting content. Although the Betcast has remained in its former format, it is sure that it will generate revenue for the network.
Casino.org reported that Chicago RSN has started to pick after the state’s Legalization of sports betting. William Hill, DraftKings and FanDuel are among the advertisers on NBC RSNs’ for NBA and NHL programs.
NBC cable unit giant, Comcast Corp, operates RSNs covering: California, San Francisco, New York, Pacific Northwest plus now Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Washington DC.
Philadelphia Is a Promising Market
Philadelphia is a promising market for companies such as NBC, which wants to introduce an idea of Sports Betcast. The City is one of the country’s largest media market. Additionally, the broadcast of City of Brotherly Love teams reaches other densely populated locations such as New Jersey and thus providing some additional geographical benefits. Philadelphia teams also have supporters throughout Mid-Atlantic, which include Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
In New Jersey, sports betting is legal, and in October, the state posted a revenue collection of $499 million from betting. Pennsylvania betting is also growing, with a 24 percent growth recorded in the same month.
