The Indiana state’s authorities have given Covers Media Group the go ahead to expand into Indiana. The content publisher has received approval for the expansion and has been issued with an IGC license.

The newly acquired license allows the online sports publisher to enter into partnerships with both sportsbooks as well as online gambling operators within Indiana’s jurisdiction. Covers Media can also build more affiliate relationships which will involve revenue fees and shares for every customers referred to a partner operator.

Covers Media Group’s General Manager, Mark Harper, stated that the approval committed the sports publisher to working their sportsbook partners in Indiana. Apart from managing Covers Media, Harper is also the General Manager of Nova Scotia Sports Media Pros (NSSMP) which is Cover’s sister agency.

Harper also mentioned that with the state approval, Covers Media was allowed to operate its sports betting products in the state. The online sports publisher is targeting to establish several partnerships with other in-state operators. This way the company will spread its wings further in Indiana.

With the new regulations on sports betting, sports betting in Indiana is starting to take root. The state is the latest US state that has taken on regulating sports betting. For Indiana the sports gambling market was opened in early September which makes it almost three months under regulated operations.

The sports betting segment in Indiana has taken on an upward trend ever since it was legalized. Looking at October figures for instance, it is notable that the numbers increased by a whopping 160% which translates to an increase of $91.7 million. Going by the, this dramatic increase comes from the successful launch of mobile betting.

Covers Media seems to have entered the Indiana center stage at an opportune time. Competition is still low since sports betting is still new in the state. Another reason why the online sport publisher will stand to gain with this move is the fact that October figures are quite impressive and the upward trend since September could be an indication.
