News reaching Casino.org is that one of the largest gaming company, Genting group, announced Bob DeSalvio as the head of its New York casinos. This appointment comes barely two months after he suddenly left Wynn Resorts where he had been president since its construction and development.
There was no clear explanation as to why he left the multi-billion establishment, which is the largest of its kind in Massachusetts. Before that, he has been part of the Las Vegas Sands Corp since 2006, where he was in charge of the construction and opening of the multi-million Sands Casino Resort in Bethlehem.
As the new president of the New York operations, he will be head of Resorts World Casino and Resorts World Catskills. According to the casino.org, he brings with him 41 years of experience in the gaming world which of a cause may help the company scale up its game. The chairman and CEO of Genting Group praised DeSalvio saying he has proven himself time and again in his ability to come up with strategies that suit the ever-changing customer needs.
This combined with his aptitude to recognize changing industry trends will help steer the growth of the New York casinos forward. Resorts World is the only casino in Gotham while the Queens is located just a few meters from J.F Kennedy International Airport.
Catskills casino was brought from Empire Resorts last month by the Genting Group and Kien Huat. It has the highest number of gaming slots, with 6000 slots and electronic gaming tables, which makes it way above its competitors and giving it the upper hand.
DelSavio is expected to start work immediately with the Resorts World casino expected to soon complete the construction of its 400 room hotel. In a statement, he said that the casino is the ultimate representation of what the gaming and hospitality industry should provide.
Consumer needs are changing everyone and the casino has been sure to evolve with them. In fact, companies that fail to embrace changes have had a history or either gradually losing customers or even falling, according to the newly appointed boss. He also added that he is super excited to join the Genting group and is ready to start tapping into the unutilized potential of the gaming world in New York.
The appointment of DelSavio is not the only management change that has taken place recently with the Genting Group. The gaming company released a statement saying that Edward Farrell would continue being the head of Genting America where he is in control of Resorts World Miami and Bimini.
Farrell will also assist DelSavio in running the operations of both New York casinos while at the same time help the Catskills casino transition into being part of the company. The New York City casino will still be headed by Scott Molina who will now report directly to DelSavio. The CEO of Empire Resorts is set to resign soon from Genting.
