A major incident at the Emerald City Casino in Montana left three dead this week. A shooter killed several players before fleeing, only to be caught and shot by the Great Falls Police Department.
It happened just after 2 am in the morning with the suspect found hours later. He died at the scene.
It was not an isolated event. There have been a string of shootings and acts of violence associated with Montana casinos, including a bomb at the Magic Diamond Casino in Bozeman and a murder at Montana Lil’s. There was also a shooting at the Diamond Jubilee Casino in Billings.
Of note, gambling licenses in The Big Sky State are tied to liquor licenses. Thus, state’s commercial “casinos” are generally bars or taverns that offer electronic gaming machines.
