In a decisive move, Aurora’s governing body has granted the final green light for the development of the Hollywood Casino resort. This paves the path for the project to commence, potentially before the year’s conclusion, according to the venture’s developer.
The ambitious plan, masterminded by Penn Entertainment, Hollywood Casino’s parent company, is set to comprise a multitude of amenities. These include a 225-room hotel capable of hosting numerous guests, and a sprawling casino outfitted with 1,200 gaming stations and a fully-operational sports book.
Additionally, the resort will boast a grand ballroom, spanning 12,000 square feet, perfectly suited for vast gatherings and gala events. An outdoor courtyard, occupying 2,500 square feet, is also on the blueprint, designed to serve as a premier spot for open-air events.
The resort will also cater to the business sector with 4,500 square feet dedicated to meeting rooms, fulfilling the need for both formal and informal discussions and seminars. In keeping with a commitment to providing a resort experience, the design includes a spa to allow guests a chance to rejuvenate and relax during their stay.
Culinary offerings have not been overlooked in the plan, with the resort set to incorporate a minimum of six different restaurant options, ensuring a variety of dining experiences for patrons.
Aurora’s approval of this Hollywood Casino resort not only signals the promise of increased tourism and hospitality activity for the region but also showcases the city’s willingness to foster growth and development in a bid to secure its spot as a go-to destination in the United States.
