In a recent series of events, an 18-year-old teenager was apprehended on Friday evening in Everett over his suspected involvement in the deadly shooting of another teenager on Casino Road. The suspect is currently under investigation for second-degree murder, per the disclosing information from the Everett Police Department.
The apprehended suspect was detained in the Snohomish County Jail, with the official jail log confirming his booking time at 11:58 p.m. The law enforcement officers received distress calls alerting them of the shooting incident that occurred on the 1300 block of Casino Road, in proximity to Cascade High School, at approximately 1:25 p.m. on the same day.
Originally perceived to be a drive-by shooting, the police found a teenager on the road, severely injured with a gunshot wound. First responders from the regional Fire Department promptly transported him to the Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett. Unfortunately, despite their best efforts, the teenager succumbed to his wounds and passed away.
The police have clarified that the deceased was not enrolled at the nearby Cascade High School, which, furthermore, was not holding classes at the time the incident was reported. A section of Casino Road, extending about a half mile from 7th Avenue SE and Kossuth Avenue, was temporarily closed off by the Everett Police as they conducted their search for the shooter.
At present, the investigation is zeroing in on the detained teenager, with the police confirming that they are not seeking any other suspects in the fatal shooting case.
