If you want to go gambling in Rhode Island you have at least 5 very good options. It is a thoroughly legal set up, with their biggest draw being dog-racing. There is a resort with an attached casino. There is a hall dedicated to bingo. There is an off-shoot of a Las Vegas corporation. Most famously, and what I will lead off with, there are 2 big stand alone casinos. Each casino has its own charms and flavors. If you take your time with each, you can get the full Rhode Island gaming experience. Let us get started.
The biggest, most famous casino is the Twin River Casino. It is situated at 100 Twin River Road, in Lincoln. It is near the border between Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The gamer at this casino will find a wide array of choices. There are virtual table games, Bingo, and 4700 gaming machines. At the center of all this, and the main gaming event for Rhode Island, is a dog track. They run the dog races all 24 hours of the day. For most people, placing a bet at the dog track is the Rhode Island game. The Twin River Casino is attached to an event center that hosts live bands. The gaming is squeezed into 400000 square feet, so you have plenty to explore when you come here. It is the casino touted by the tourist board and the first on any list of Rhode Island casinos.
The second casino of Rhode Island is the Newport Grand. It is the other casino mentioned by the state website. It is on 150 Admiral Kalbfus Road, in Newport. There is an attached restaurant called the the Grand Grille. This is slot machine heaven for those who love the slots. They have 1000 gaming machines. This may have something to do with the 18 percent tax on table games. There are no table games. It is 50000 square feet on the inside. There is a lot of elbow room for your gaming pleasure. There is a race book available. This a classy place for anyone interested in slots.
If Bingo is your game, you will want to head to 1612 Elmwood Ave, in Cranston. This is a huge, run-down hall with devoted Bingo players cramming the seats. They have a decent concession stand. They are most noted for holding Gay Bingo nights on Thursdays, featuring transvestite callers and charities for excellent causes. Those nights are always packed with players. They have many different Bingo games for people to try. Bring your sense of fun and your serious Bingo love here.
Ceasars Entertainment is in Westerly, at 16 High Street. They are part of the chain from Las Vegas. They have the Las Vegas amenities, including restaurants, slot machines, and table games. If you miss Las Vegas, this is your place.
There is a resort ( somewhat of a bed and breakfast) that is attached to a casino. This is Atlantic Beach Casino Resort. As the name implies, this resort is on the beach, and you can generally see the ocean from the rooms. It is at 319 Atlantic Avenue, in Westerly. They are just down the road from the Moneghan Sun and Foxwoods casinos, though those are in the city of Ledyard. Neither the Foxwoods nor the Moneghan are technically in Rhode Island.
So that rounds out the 5 casinos and gambling spaces in Rhode Island. It is everyone’s wish that you enjoy yourself there, so please use this as your guide.
