In celebration of the 25th anniversary of Onamia’s flagship casino, the Mille Lacs band announced several upgrades to take place within two of Minnesota’s gaming properties. These upgrades include overhauls to the gaming floors, and everything from the ceiling, light fixtures, property signage, wall treatments, and carpets.
The Grand Casino Mille Lacs launched in 1991, and the inauguration of the tribe occurred a year later for the second facility in Hinckley. Both of these places are due to having a huge expansion, and Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures owns both of these properties- the Grand Casino Hinckley and the Grand Casino Mille Lacs. The casino has banquet, gaming, dining, accommodations, and conference facilities. This casino also features the Grand National Golf Club, The Grand Harmony Spa, and live entertainment. The Grand Casino Mille Lacs also has over 3,000 employees, and over 4,000 people are covered under this company’s insurance plan.
The enhancements of the Grand Casino property will focus on beverage and food venues. The Onamia casino would soon feature the 1991 Kitchen, and the sports themed, Burger Bar eatery which replaces the space that was formerly the Woodlands Steakhouse. The sq. ft. for this sports centered restaurant is 4600. This restaurant will have more than 35 big screen televisions, slot machines, and bar style seating. Another thing is that the 1991 Kitchen is replacing the Grand Northern Grill. The 1991 Kitchen is a casual, sit down restaurant that would be open for 24 hours a day, and it’s 7075 sq. ft. Comforts foods with a twist would be offered at this restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There will also be a diner that is 7425 sq. ft. at the Grand Casino Hinckley. It will be called the Stories Diner, and it will keep the American tradition that would become the hotspot for guests and locals. This diner will be near the Events entrance, and this diner would serve the favorites for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Other things concerning the food and beverage venues would be the fact that it will be like a food hall. This food hall form will serve a variety of American, Asian, Italian, and Mexican meals. There will also be homemade desserts and pastries. The distinction of this type of food halls to others is that the restaurant will have the ability to be a buffet on the weekends, and the ability to change to popular favorites, such as the Seafood buffet, on special occasions. And furthermore, both properties will have buffet areas that will be restyled and rebranded as Grand Provisions along with having the food halls to offer a huge array of cuisines.
There will be great changes for gaming as well with these amazing renovations. For one, the Grand Casino will have a Rival House Sporting Parlour that will include pool tables, bowling lanes, and other popular games. There will also be shareable plates and craft beer. Additionally, at Grand Casino Hinckley, there will be a new pool area.
In reaching a 25th anniversary landmark, many officials in Minnesota say that it’s a great thing to have several upgrades to take place at two of Minnesota’s gaming properties. The Grand Casino Mille Lacs launched in 1991, and the inauguration of the tribe occurred a year later for the second facility in Hinckley. Both of these places are due to having a huge expansion. This would be great for the casino and the overall economy of Minnesota. It will draw even more guests to come and enjoy all that the Grand Casino Mille Lacs and the Grand Casino Hinckley have to offer.
